The provinces of Misiones and
Corrientes, by geographical and climatic characteristics
they possess, put Argentina as the main producer of
yerba mate.
These have a number of agro-ecological characteristics
such as deep, bright red, with good physical condition,
slightly to strongly acid and medium fertility,
isohydric humid subtropical climate with a presence in
central and northern region subtropical forest cover
Paraná, which enable the successful development of
plantations.
This region also coincides with the natural distribution
area of the species.
The regular harvest takes place between April and
September, however there is a summer crop is
concentrated in the months of December and February. |
